Our client, a successful and growing drinks delivery and logistics company are looking for experienced LGV 2 drivers.
Full training and mentoring over first few weeks as well as going out with an experienced drivers mate.
The client also prefers to keep you on the same route.
You will play a crucial role in transporting goods efficiently and safely to pubs, hotels, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs and as a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and exceptional customer service.
Starting each day between 5am and 6am, this role is job and finish with a minimum of 8 hours paid.
Training:
First week in house training with one day out with a crew to observe.
Week Two: Out driving with an experienced crew.
Week Three. You are out driving with an experienced drivers mate.
Duties:
- Safely operate trucks to transport goods from one location to another.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo following proper procedures.
- Drive defensively and adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Utilize GPS systems and maps to determine the best routes.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding transportation operations.
- Work well with your drivers mate and polite to all customers at all times to develop good relationships with them.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial driving experience and license with a clean driving record. (Will accept 3 points)
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of safe driving practices and regulations.
- Strong physical stamina for loading/unloading tasks.
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
Salary is £43,888 plus 26 days plus Bank Holidays.
Mon to Fri only with very rare Saturdays for overtime working.
